School Uniform
As a result of consultation, the decision was made in session 23/24 to introduce a school hoody and revise the school dress code to offer more choice for our young people:
Black school hoody or black school sweatshirt/plain black jumper
White shirt and tie (BGE tie for S1-S3 and Senior Phase tie for S4-S6)
Any predominantly black bottoms (e.g. trousers, skirt, leggings, trackies, shorts - only during Term 1 and Term 4*)
Predominantly black shoes or trainers
Blazers (Senior Phase S4-S6) are encouraged but are optional
Blazers must be worn when part of Pupil Leadership Team (School Captains, House Captains and Senior Prefects).
At minimum, young people should bring an appropriate top for PE *.
Hoodies must be removed for practical subjects due to Health and Safety (e.g. Technical, Woodwork, Health and Food Technology)
*All items of school clothing should maintain the dignity of the young person and not place them at risk. Where school dress is regarded as inappropriate, a member of staff will contact the young person and parents/carers to discuss.
What we wear in PE
All pupils wear a short-sleeved top and trainers.
Girls can wear appropriate shorts/leggings/tracksuits. Boys can wear shorts and tracksuits.
We don't wear football tops or vest tops.
